Crowdcube Partners with America’s Top Equity Crowdfunder SeedInvest

We’re delighted to announce that Crowdcube is partnering with SeedInvest, America’s leading equity crowdfunding platform, in order to give UK investors access to American companies being funded on the SeedInvest platform. The collaboration is the first time a UK crowdfunding platform has partnered up with an American counterpart in this way.

The first American company on SeedInvest that Crowdcube’s 400,000 members will be able to access is Keen Home, which develops proactive hardware and software products to protect and enhance a home’s core systems. The company has undergone SeedInvest’s careful vetting process and Crowdcube members can now invest via the Keen Home pitch page on the Crowdcube platform.

We’re thrilled that investors have the opportunity to back exciting American companies through our partnership with SeedInvest. Among Keen Home’s existing investors are well-known American venture capital firms and major East Asian tech corporates, and now Crowdcube members can invest alongside them. America is home to some of the world’s most exciting startup and growth-stage companies and through this unique partnership with SeedInvest, the investment opportunities for investors on Crowdcube are more diverse than ever before.

Ryan Feit, co-founder of SeedInvest, said: “As an industry crowdfunding is all about breaking down borders – for instance SeedInvest has taken the lead in opening up investment opportunities in startups to many more people than was previously the case. It makes sense that the fast-growing companies on SeedInvest’s platform should be able to reach out beyond America for funding as they grow their businesses and build their brands. We’re delighted to be helping Keen Home access crowd investment from the UK with the help of Crowdcube, our fellow-pioneers in equity crowdfunding.”

Keen Home has sold over 35,800 Smart Vents and grossed over $2.6 million in revenue since launching the product in November 2015. The Smart Vent System controls a home’s heating and cooling airflow on a room-by-room level, which studies show results in improved comfort and efficiency. By focusing on improving home infrastructure, Keen Home innovates in largely overlooked areas of the home. The company has strategic partnerships with Google’s Nest and Samsung’s SmartThings and has raised more than $4.4 million in financing from such high profile investors as Techstars Ventures, Galvanize Ventures, R/GA Ventures, and American Family Ventures.
