Alkaline88® Makes Huge Entry Into Convenience Stores.

22 Sales Reps Driving ‘Alkaline88® Vans” Quickly Land 544 Texas Stores and 438 California Stores.

This is a welcome development of events. The Alkaline Water Co., (WTER) is one of the few beverage companies we are aware of that began life by entering the ‘large store format’ (Walmart, Kroger, Safeway) with a ‘large size’ product (1 gallon). While they have had huge success – now in 50 states and in over 50,000 retail locations (and cumulative sales near $50 million) – they have done so without the average ‘try it for the first time’ consumer who typically purchases a small bottle (500ml) and typically at a small convenience store.

That small store, small bottle format is the typical way most beverage start-ups begin life. By letting consumers ‘try it,’ to see if they like it before buying a gallon. What this means to us is that now millions of consumers can try Alkaline88 (and their new flavors) for the first time – further boosting sales and leading to expanded sales of their one gallon size format for home use. No one buys a gallon to drink in the car, just to wet their whistle!

The huge success that Alkaline88® has had in just four weeks, can be attributed to EA Berg’s 22 sales and merchandising brokers who are knocking on doors driving customized vans prominently displaying the Alkaline88® logo. Pure genius. In all, EA Berg’s small army of commissioned sales reps cover 16,500 stores in the West and Southwest. In the same press release (below) the Company announced that PITCO Foods will now be selling Alkaline88® to over 12,000 retail stores across Northern California and Reno Nevada.
